Man beaten to death in Ore. Fred Meyer parking lot
THE DALLES, Ore. - A man was beaten to death in a Fred Meyer parking lot in The Dalles Sunday night, police said.
Mark Anthony Labonte, 20, was found in the parking lot at around 9 p.m., according to police. He was taken by LifeFlight from Mid-Columbia Medical Center to OHSU in Portland, where he died from his injuries early Monday morning.
Police have not found a suspect, according to Chief Jay Waterbury. It's unclear if the suspect and Labonte knew each other.
Waterbury said there is no indication that Labonte's death is related to the death of Scott Erlenbush, who was killed in a parking lot in The Dalles last month.
